Welcome to the Over 50's
The Ireland Over 50’s veteran cricket group is relatively new and we’re actively seeking new members to join us and get involved. Fill out form here.
We want to open up the opportunity to continue to play competitive cricket for those over 50 – and are looking for accomplished club cricketers, ex-Ireland or ex-Interprovincial players – who want to keep playing to a decent standard, enjoy the game as it should be played – and challenge themmselves on a regular basis. There is a lot of fun too.
Our First fixtures:
The Irish Over-50s team competes internationally – and also plans to develop a national Inter provicincial series in 2026.
Recent activity includes matches against England over-50s (June 2024) and an Australian Over 50’s (May 2024) side and a 2025 match against New Zealand (Canterbury) touring side, where Ireland played at Phoenix Cricket Club.
These have been “ad hoc” fixtures that we’ve been lucky enough to be approached by other countries – and now we want to take the Over 50’s to the next level by better formalising our set-up – but in particualr, growing our playing base, so we can get accomplished players, playing longer and enjoying themselves to a decent standard.
